Dr. Bhampa Rai, chairman of Bhutanese Refugee Repatriation Committee and ardent human rights activist, is hospitalized Monday in Siliguri, West Bengal, India
According to sources in Birtamode and Kathmandu, Dr, Rai was rushed to medical attention after severe internal bleeding occurred in his intestines. He is admitted and being treated at Ananda Lok Hospital in Siliguri, India.
Dr. Rai’s wife, Urmila Rai, suffered kidney failure some four years ago and has been living on dialysis since then.
His treatment and health status is yet to be known.
