Exiled leaders on Monday have asked their friends and well-wishers from Nepal to create pressure on the Government of Nepal to resume bilateral talks with Bhutan so that doors of repatriation would open.
Dr Bhampa Rai of the Bhutanese Refugee Representative Repatriation Committee and DP Kaphle of the People’s Forum for Human Rights in Bhutan made such a request to local leaders of different political parties and human rights organizations of Jhapa district amidst a program at Goldhap.
According to Dr Rai, refugees have been neglected by Nepali people since a few years. “Even the government is not serious towards our issue,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kaphle expressed sadness over the visiting US Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs Maria Otero for not paying a visit to camps. He said that she could have given audience to some of the exiled leaders to listen at their concerns in person.
The new Camp Management Committee of Goldhap organised the program where Nepali leaders of various political parties including the major three – UCPN (Maoist), CPN-UML and Nepali Congress – were present.
Nepali leaders who expressed their views at the program mentioned that they would extend all kinds of supports in the democratic struggle of the exiled Bhutanese.
However, most of them said it is the refugees who need to decide what kinds of programs are favourable to be launched.

This is the biggest joke of the decade. The Nepalese even don’t have time to pull up their own dhotis.
Requested or demanded from camp, how that could be equated? Raised to local nepali leaders, so funny. Why they need to raise at this hour?
Please do not do anything for the name sake and gain filthy popularity to highlight in media.
Dr. Bhampa and Mr. Kafley don’t waste your time.
I am surely happy to see the unfaltering faith Dr. Rai pinned for repatriation.
I salute him for his consistence believe and the initiation for repatriation for those people who are long longing for going back to Bhutan with honor and dignity.
I remember the contribution made by Dr. Rai for his community fellows.
First and foremost he used to examine the Bhutanese patients for free. Give donations to any youths/people whoever approaches for it. Dr Rai is the most favorite person amongst the majdur Unions (Rexshaw walas) as he used to make fabulous payment out of compassion to those needy people. Dr.Bumpa is an outstanding personality in our community. I wish him the best in his quest for services and leading the people in the right directions.
There are many Bhutanese Doctors working in the camp vicinity, but during my 16 years of stay in the camp, I never knew about their contribution like the voracious services rendered by Dr.Rai.

yes ,Dr Rai is the most dedicated bhutanese who loves his community more than anything.Everyday he works for them .Well success is anoither story not always in our hand but he works for us .Hats off to him.
Is that true Prakash Sir? Dr. Rai, the most dedicated among Bhutanese. This may sound ok with his profession but as a community member he is the most communal guy both in belief and practice.
May be with allied field you superlate you senior.This is how you trace the steps and follow them.

what a hail you people are doing ? Whole world is aware about the prolonged Bhutanese Refugee issue and have been focussing through different programs/ Resettlement and so on. Now for real repatriation you need to fight against the brutality in Bhutan,fight means as of the demand of situation(even with exiled military if needed)and more to that, need to accelerate the Indian politics dominating Bhutan…what a joke you are doing as “calling Nepali local leaders to pressure their governt…” Silly guys, don’t u get any other profession to gain popularity arround Jhapa? And making a fun of innocent refugees in the camps???
