Extending the Front’s congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected Prime Minister of Nepal, Dr. Baburam Bhattrai, the United Revolutionary Front of Bhutan (URFB), stated that the undergoing ‘armed-revolt’ in Bhutan was an inspiration from the Nepalese Maoists who waged decade-long armed struggle in the country.
A media statement sent to BNS via email by Front’s Commander-In-Chief, ‘Karma’, has further sought support and solidarity from Bhattarai-led government for armed struggle in Bhutan.
A little-known URFB, which placed itself behind the explosions in Bhutan quite sometimes in the past, is one of the self-declared underground revolutionary outfits.
Can’t wait to see radical changes in Bhutan. Keep it up URFB.

Is democracy about killing people? Is it about promoting corruption? Is it about environment destruction, cultural and traditional disappearance, bad governance and spiritual degradation? Then we would never look up to Nepal. Nor will our people buy any of the ideas, such as Maoism.
The Maoist uprising in Nepal has put the people and the country further backward, not to mention that more than 13, 000 innocent lives have been lost in the hands of Maoist manslaughter. The Maoists have instilled the idea of killing people to achieve one’s political ambition. Such inhumane activities for political gain will continue for generations in Nepal.
Bhutan on the other hand is on a totally different path. No matter how much you ill minded people can seek help from your ‘comrade’ who inspired you of violent uprising, Bhutan and its people are ready to nail you down with a fist.
Killing one to take other to power is a heinous crime. I hate such game outright.
MY worry is …isn’t Bhutan Govt. forcing innocent citizens to opt for that??

Friends come on! How long do we want to play the foul game?
Yes, it is true thousands of people died during the civil war (fought for revolution), to bring change in our perception and culture (which are almost useless now, like a constitutional or absolute king ).
Yes, many civilian (our family, friend, neighbor, ….) and many leaders died during this period. Same would have had happened if people like Dr Bhattarai, who sacrifices their life, were not that lucky.
Just imagine, would we be able to stay without medication if we have a headache? Would we be able to tolerate if we have a small cut in our finger?
Then we need to realize, how would people like Bhattarai (one of the talented and smart students from our country, and who earned the entitlement of Dr. would be able to sacrifice their live for more than 10 years in this war?
It is far more complicated and worse than a minor pain in a finger or a headache. People like Dr. Bhattarai would have made more than enough for his living and for his family if he could have migrated to other developed nation.
But a person like Dr.Bhattarai thinks for the people and for the nation. They think they are responsible for their nation.
So, friends let us think out of the box, be positive and do the best from our side to make the Dream of people like Dr.Bhattarai come true.
For simple reference-just come and visit our Mid-western and Western part of the nation, how the ten year revolution bring the change in casteism and slavery. So let us develop the attitude to respect the sacrifice and contribution of these people.

@ Lotus Flower: Direct killing is better than slow poisoning. Maoist of Nepal did the former and JSW and his government did the later one. One did to capture the state power and empower the people where other did to retain the absolutism and keep the people at the iron-fist.
Why are you raising fingers to others as your government made more disappearance to common people and many international human right groups need to intervene time and again to check and balance your deeds? In a systematic way, thinking that no one will understand your hidden undertakings of erasing the Lhotshampas’ socio-cultural establishments, the governments made every effort and at any cost to wipe out completely. Is it not shame on your part for such a cowardice deeds? We can make so many arguments on ideal cases but let’s also look at the way the JSW government reproduced during the conflict resolution. Is that the way how a problem is addressed by a benevolent person?
Initially the southern population requested just to review the demonic polices only, but JSW termed all these as the politics and tagged us with anti-nationals, understandably against the interest of the palace. And see the consequences and fate of total southern population. Same system when adopted and practiced by the His Majesty blessings or gifts became milestone.
To be honest, I value democracy and hate killing or bloodshed of any human beings and other animates. From either side we accuse each other, and both committed some bad things of different degrees. With this 20 years period, I’m sure both the sides realized their mistakes. It’s human to make mistakes and considering the difficult situation that each side is facing, if the gap is narrowed, it will be good for Bhutan and Bhutanese people. There are many probable possibilities as an outcome of our bad relation and many began taking the advantages of such situation. Let’s not write those chances here on this forum.

So URFB friends, it is high time to wake up now and better choose the middle path which would be more suitable in the South Asian country like Bhutan. what magic does bhattarai have?he can’t clap with one hand,critics are behind in his own party and oponents are eying like eagle.after all nepal got farsighted prime minister with multiple vision.but bitter truth is that period of nepalese prime ministers and kids diapers have one thing in common.they both are changing regularly and with the same reason.

Either URFB is stupid to expect Bhattarai’s help to support their violent acts or Bhattarai would be stupid to provide any such support. Hopefully he can establish a stable govt. that will take Nepal forward. It has slid far too behind. Bhutan may have its flaws but it is definitely moving forward, and we have nothing to lose & may be more to gain by recognizing it when the whole world is doing it. I acknowledge the atrocities some of us have suffered in the past, but life is about moving forward. Let’s not follow that hate and slander approach that Nepali media models when it comes to Bhutan. Let’s look forward to a better Bhutan we can be part of, but certainly not through violence and destruction.
Nepal and Bhutan cherish centuries old spiritual, cultural and traditional relationships besides belonging to the same regional buffer-state-hood between the two giant nations of China in the north and India in the south. Both of them following contrasting ideologies of leftist and rightists respectively. In such a situation, URFB’s urge to Nepal is not only stupidity, but showing the true face of a barking dog. Besides geophysical conditions with no human forest, no countries in the world will like to see Bhutan engulfed by arms struggle, while Bhutan is capable of dealing with any degree of armed insurgency even using their fists, swords, bow and arrow and sling-stones from strategic points. Bhutan is further supported by its highly spiritual tutelary deities. Over nineteen wars with Tibet and several wars with British India were fought with bare minimum casualties and won them with fairly little number of armies. As is popularly said, “pen is mightier than a bullet” Bhutanese problem should be brought to conclusion through peaceful means only. Violence and destruction will only give chances to third party giants.
URFB, do not look at the ways of BPP in the past that put much manure in the field expediting the growth of weeds to which the life-sustaining plantations succumbed! Killing Bhutanese to get what you want will kill your very rights to the claim being part of our community and the nation as a whole. NO to violence! You will have sympathy of the people only if you must kill the armed thugs on duty against you to keep yourself alive for the noble work of liberating the Bhutanese state and its people…

In fact democracy is the best formula to run the country for the people but it should be highly matured.The immature democracy is very bad formula to run the country for the people coz it gives wrong direction to the country and the people. .For example;If we drive the car in the wrong way definitely we will get an accident and the result will be negative.So,there is no need of democracy in Bhutan right-now but there is a need of practice of democracy in Bhutan to get correct formula to run the country.How to do the practice of democracy in Bhutan?.As per my opinion you have to the develop positive feeling of people towards the state.you have to make aware the people about the responsibilities and the duties of an individual people towards the state.Dear friend Lotus you are right.Democracy doesn’t mean to destroy the state.It means to built up the state by the people.In case of Bhutan no need of democracy because there is already democracy in India.If you need Bhutan you have to fight with Greate India at list forty years.If you have power show me by chasing Indian militant from Bhutan.

Coming to the discussion I see no reason for you to panick when BNS runs coverage on URFB because the struggle is not with URFB nor with the ngolops as you may be proud to call us.
