The Buffalo police named the child, who was struck and killed by a church day care bus on Thursday, as Darpan Niraula.

The Eyewitness News quoted Buffalo Police Leutenant Joseph Pierchala as saying,” A ten-year-old boy was crossing Prospect Avenue in a westerly direction when he was struck and killed by a church day care bus that was traveling north bound on Prospect Avenue.”
According to police report, the victim was hit from the front of the bus and the driver has volunteered…consented to give a blood sample to test for alcohol. However, there were no signs of any alcohol involvement or intoxication.
His 16-year-old brother Chandra Niraula was also present at the time of mishap. However, he said he was helpless as Darpan died on the spot.
The agency said the family was resettled in Buffalo with his parents, older brother and sister last year.
