Nepali PM asks Bhutan to take home exiled Bhutanese

Many aspiring Bhutanese refugees all over the world are eagerly waiting a chance to go back to their original homestead with honor and dignity. I guess one day a day will come that the RGOB has to take its citizens back home. I am already rejoicing to contemplate the idea of repatriation.
The life is many folds better elsewhere then Bhutan but that reparation is our right which is enshrined in the declaration of Universal Human Rights Charter. And Bhutan is a place where we were born and raised up.The idea of sailing back where you belong is simply thrilling. I wish Bhutan take this as an opportunity to restores its lost glory by welcoming all the willing refugees back to their original land and properties.

Unless you are true and loyal citizens who might have been wrongly evicted by the RGoB, you cannot expect to be repatriated.Your protest will only result in more complication in refugee issues. You are actually trying to spit the venom by acting so aggressive and protesting as to tarnish the RGoB’s image in the international front. This calls for your dutiful and ethical behavior to be pro-Bhutanese or against it.Protest without critical thinking can only mean that it is jeopardizing your own action– meaning you are ultimately real anti-national.

The very people who evicted the innocent villagers after labeling them as terrorist, illegal immigrants etc are leading the so called democratic Bhutan. They fear if people repatriated back to Bhutan will lose their looted income as well as their real face as rear species will known by the world. The real hidden Buddhist philosophy of the regime and its trusted dogs will get expose to the international community. Their claim of GNH by lecturing outside will get expose. So in such situation Bhutanese rulers will never ever be sincere to solve the problem once for all.
Further the racist policy adapted by Jigme Singye Wangchuk is still intact there is not an inch shift policy towards southern Bhutanese till date (Nepalese Govt. take note of this). Innocent people have been suffering for the last 20 years without citizenship;NOC, there is no place to appeal. The real culprits who are supposed to be behind the bars are enjoying every facility. Hundreds plus innocents are behind the bar. So in such situation I doubt the problem will be solved peacefully??????????????????????????????????????????????????? The looted property after eviction has already been distributed to the people in the name of security etc.
I want to appeal to the Nepalese authority… please put the people who is really capable of dealing with the Bhutanese authority, who is really a human being not the one who even will be ready to sell their mother at the cost of money. This should be a final talk else stop talking because already twenty years have been passed how long Nepalese authority wants to be cheated by Bhutanese thugs????????????
lastly Bhutanese rulers have played with the lives of innocent people for the last two decades this international community must keep in mind before labeling them anything else when situation get worse in future.
I know few people esp…the trusted dogs and paid agents of the regime will not agree with me but if “GOD” permits one day the whole world will know/see the real hidden philosophy of a Buddhist country and its rulers.

1. “Absence of jewel in the lotus of the heart” of the 4th king, Present PM and his subordinates (I am not sure of the present king)has been a Problem. How can Truth be covered and lies be told along with “Om mane…padme hun!)
2. Radical views and excessive demands of the so many disorganized refugee leaders in contrast to the general people’s painful plight(as victims of injustice) for a simple repatriation, has been the greatest hurdle (at least in the beginning which was a critical phase to make true impression to the world.)
3. Knowing what they know now, the world has taken a stand, “Live and let live” and started to resettlement Bhutanese refugees in the third countries (so you live and leave Bhutan alone) It is not the lack of information anymore but it is the lack of will in the part of international communities. Without pressure of the mass and the media, the international communities prefer to turn deaf ear to the atrocities in exchange for humanitarian help being provided, because they have started to believe Bhutan is an island at the brink of extinction and we are a radical part of the ocean sorrounding it. We should have had our separate identity to distinguish ourselves and remain an inherent part of Bhutan as a tiny group of people at the brink of ethnic cleansing seeking the help. The world would have definately supported us. Confused identity, poor presentation, excessive demands boomranged!
Too late! All I can see is a small possibility to repatriate some of our people who have been making steadfast sacrifices in the camps for two decades to go back home instead of TCR. Best wishes to them with due respect. That possibility too is becoming dimmer with the chances of assimilation in one hand and Krantikari on the other, because Bhutan is eager to brand them as terrorists and deem unfit for repatriation. Chances are that some Krantikari groups could be supported by the Bhutanese government for the purpose of winning a propaganda campaign. Instead, if I was an advisor to the King and the PM, I’d beg them to say that the campaign based the foundation of lies will crumble down one day. It is against the principle of Buddhist religion. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the country and the people to tell the truth, accept the misdeeds and strike a deal to take back the remaining Bhutanese in the camps; and make a treaty in the spirit of peace and reconciliation, so that never again such problem will occur in Bhutan. This should open the door for a true democracy and gross national happiness for all.
What is the hope?
Uncover the Truth and jot it down in the pages of the world history all the untold stories of Bhutanese refugees, the atrocities of the government. The issue will not die and there is no expiration date for justice.
What is the concern?
One day 20, 50, 100 or 1000 years from now, Mahatma Gandhis’ India will either genuinely take interest to grant justice to the brothers of its Gurkha citizens Or use the historical injustice as tools to instigate descendants of Bhutane-Indians to swallow Bhutan.
Nepal govt/PM?
Weak with no resolve to solve the Bhutanese refugee problem. Talking is cheap!…as if 14 rounds is not enough.

It is a right declaration by the PM of Nepal but without strong commitment and force. The initiative should be backed with stronger support base and involve wider sections of supportive organizations such as UNHCR if it has to materialize.

People who are writing their comments need to watch that being sentimental has not and will not help. It is time to be diplomatic and tactful in our comments and more matured in our behaviour. Lets try to be constructive and pave way for a peaceful resolution of the problem.

I think Bhutan should take this as an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to happiness of larger sections of people internationally. Governments with diplomatic relations with Bhutan may like to seek this opportunity as well and find alternatives for some genuine and worthy action to help create a better Bhutanese history. It is definitely a turning point of Bhutan’s history on how it would like to build the future.

Jhalanath Khanal fought tooth and nail to become the PM of Nepal. He dodged off principles of his party and deserted his own friends to attain this power. This was a life time opportunity for him quickly to stash cash in his container from the tax payer’s money. Had he given just an iota of his tactics towards making just a firm dialogue with Bhutan or even with India, some sincerity would have reflected in what he his saying. The way he blinks his eyes every time he tilts his head makes me feel that he has nothing else in his brain than saying REPATRIATION. He should first learn as to what repatriation actually means. Having said this, this is nothing new as long as the history of PMs is concerned and this trend will continue for years to come unless a leader is born in Nepal. By this time it may be VERY VERY late!

It may be true that some Bhutanese especially elderly either in the camp or from the resettlement have a desire to go back. BUT not ‘ many’ as DB Adhikari above writes. Tell me, how many of us would really go back should there be repatriation. Is not the repatriation too late already? Mr. DB, would you really like to go back to Bhutan with your family? So, it is time we be realistic and put our focus in to building and developing our new lives and sending our kids to American or European schools rather than brooding over illusory artificial ideas of being repatriated.

I would like to second him: Starting from the so-called top level Southern Bhutanese Drashos to the village level Gups there was a time back then when they kept on buttering the arses of the regime. They even took the initiative to embellish themselves in Bokhu, chewed Doma and even twisted their scruffy stocked legs to drone themselves as Drashos. Not only this, they spread propaganda saying that Bakhu was the best attire in the world for the SB; it could be used both as a mattress and a blanket! But just later they realized that it was a blanket that kept on either exposing their feet or exposing their face. It was neither an attire of their wish nor a blanket to keep them warm. It was another ensnare of the most seditious plan of JSW. And these very propagandists coerced the innocent villagers to whirr ‘ JSW Murdabaad’ and forced them burn their ‘ two in one’. And every body knows what happened subsequently. Confused identity, poor presentation, excessive demands boomranged! (Dick)

However I would not take at this movement that the Bhutanese Government is supporting groups from the camps to kill its own police men or destroying its own property. This is how we love gossiping!

I went through Nilik comment about reparation. I think you may be speaking your heart and this might represent the sentiments of many resettled folks. I also feel that many people wish the same way as I do coz many of us possibly all of us, left our life time earnings, movable or unmovable properties back in Bhutan. When we were quashed and evicted many of us came out in order to calm the boiling situation then in the hope of self-repatriation in a couple of days later. But the things turned upside down and we were not allowed or we would not be able to get back as easily as we contemplated, I would say that was my immaturity to think returning to Bhutan was that easy.
Given the fact that we left everything back, I tend to go back and get my properties reconstituted and I believe, many people are thinking my line.
The other political connation is that we lost the battle with RGOB, which we shouldn’t loose it. I believe the repatriation will give a confident and prompts our confidence.
I do totally agree regarding the educational standard that our and future generation would get here. And there is all the viable chances that our resettled folks will get better access in the overall development of their personalities and could became the worthy citizens of a worth opportunity.
On the other hand Bhutan is the lands were we originally belong to, and with sincerity a citizen’s obligation to serve the nation with utmost humility and dedication. Given the situation I offered myself to repatriate in order to take the opportunity to serve Bhutan my Janam Bhumi (country of Birth)
