Dec 04: Director General of International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) Dr. Andreas Schild is currently in Bhutan on the invitation of the Ministry of Agriculture.
He visited the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE) on Thursday.
During his stay in Bhutan, Dr. Andreas is scheduled to discussed variety of issued with Bhutan government officials including proposed 2011 Bhutan Climate Change Summit. The summit will be hosted by UWICE in partnership with ICIMOD.
He discussed in length on the proposed summit with the campus administration to access the updates on preparatory and planning phases.
Director of UWICE Nawang Norbu briefed Dr Andreas on Bhutan’s conservation and environment perspectives. Dr Andreas agreed to take in the librarian of the campus on the internship program in ICIMOD.
