Dec 3 .The Bhutanese Refugee group in Geneva continues its mission for the third day.
The group was welcomed to a press meet by the English desk editor at the Communication Office of Lutheran World Federation (LWF) today. The group was interviewed on the contemporary issues like ongoing resettlement procedures, life after resettlement, Human Rights situation in Bhutan and the message to the ongoing Universal Periodic Review (UPR).
The team also attended the Review session in the ongoing UPR meeting and made extensive lobby to the participating delegates. Human Rights Reports prepared by different Bhutanese groups, organizations and political parties were made widely available to the delegates from different countries in the UPR meeting.
A few members of the group is scheduled to attain some important appointments on Friday and others shall continue demonstration before the UN building till 14.00 hours. The team shall be present in the UPR meeting while the presentation by Royal Government of Bhutan takes place from 14.30 till 17.30 hours.
The team comprises of sixteen members of Bhutanese living in different countries of Europe.
