In two different incidents of shooting, two youths have been killed while two other are critically injured in Baltimore, Tuesday night.
According to Baltimore police, 17-year-old male victim was found shot multiple times in the torso. He was rushed to an area hospital. He is reported to be in critical but stable condition.
Another 20-year old youth was found behind the building with a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at 10:32 p.m. at an area hospital. Referring police spokesman Kevin Brown, Baltimore Sun.Com has mentioned that the deceased is identified to be Big Bahadur Gurung, a Nepali immigrant.
Police said the two men may have been targeted in a robbery.
Meanwhile, KN Uprety, Chairman of Baltimore Bhutanese Committee has mentioned that Gurung was a recently resettled Bhutanese refugee. Despite our effort to contact Uprety, he was not immediately available. Until the filing of this report, nothing more has been known about the deceased and the victim.
In another separate incident of shooting, another 24-years old man was killed. Police identified him as Jones III of the 3400 block of Oakfield Ave. in Baltimore.

Oophs ! What a heart-lamenting news it is. The trend of fatalism associated with various accidental hazards like murder,rape,suicide,traffic mishap etc is alarming and mercilessly transgressing our Bhutanese communities in the United States frequently.What could be preventive measures to avoid this kind of manual loss ? To some extent,can any resettled responsible in each Bhutanese community take initiative volunteerly to preach especially youngsters and aged-elders about the tactics of safegaurding oneself in such crowded cities ? Any way,I extend my heartfelt condolence to the bereaved Gurung family and may the departed soul rest with peace in Heaven.At last but not the least, I also pray for a speedy recovery of the injured.

It is a very shocking news for not only Bhutanese in Baltimore but all Nepalese. I am glad that at least the voice has been spreaded.
What I don’t like is some one from Baltimore is taking this as an oppertunity to claim himself the president of Bhutanese in Baltimore which is ananimous to all accept very few members of the community. Interview could be taken without claiming a president also.
