The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has said a total of 48,763 exiled Bhutanese have already left Nepal for various western countries under the third country resettlement programme as of July second week.

Of this, 40,971 refugees have been resettled in various states of United States of America followed by 3,215 in Canada.
Meanwhile, resettlement statistics of other countries included Australia (2,720), New Zealand (563), Denmark (483), Norway (372), Netherlands (228) and United Kingdom (111), informed a source at the UNHCR.
Meanwhile, a highly placed source has revealed to the Bhutan News Service that Denmark, which earlier proposed to accept just 500 refugees for resettlement, is learnt to make preparation to take another 500.
UNHCR estimates that the population of camps would remain somewhere close to 10,000 by the mid-2015. Now, there are around 64,311 exiled Bhutanese in various six camps of Jhapa and Morang.

Thanks BNS for the update.
Very encouraging numbers and would be good to see more countries taking interest to increase the numbers like Denmark. This is a really impressive gesture by the USA and the Bhutanese in the American Diaspora should feel so proud to be future citizens of the great country.
Similarly, we are all proud to be Canadian citizens as Canada is hosting the second largest cohorts of the Bhutanese new citizens to this country.
Similarly, all other six countries need to be appreciated for their kind gestures of giving life and human dignity to this deprived population group.
Please do count on the Bhutanese in the Diaspora for any support in the settlement process.
THANK YOU UNHCR, IOM, NEPAL GOVT, USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, AND ALL OTHER CORE GROUP COUNTRIES FOR THIS NOBLE HUMANITARIANN STEP

However, impressive thanks to all the core countries, who gave our new life in advanced place. In fact, United States played an aboveboard role to settle most of among us.We hope, desirable refugees will be getting appease until the end of the resettlement process program. Eventually, especial thanks for paying gregarious attention of the poor Bhutanese refugee’s future for three stars and all the staff of UNHCR and IOM.
Also, gentle thanks to our one young youth, who shows miracle event, even he grew up or spent his young life in abhorrent refugee environment.
