Australian Ambassador to Nepal Susan Grace met the resettled Bhutanese in Hobart of Tasmania, Australia on February 12.
During the meeting that lasted almost for two hours, resettled folks shared their experiences of being in the new land. They expressed their joys for availing the resettlement in Australia.
Krishna Thapa, who reached here from Beldangi-II, communicated to the Envoy that a period of 510 hours of English classes for resettling Bhutanese is not sufficient for them and requested to press the government for review in this regard. She assured them that she would discuss the matter with the higher authority.
Bhim Khatiwoda, the first one to get resettled in Hobart shared his experience from the time he reached there and his long struggle to find a job in Australia. Currently, he works in a Nursing Home as a carer.
During the meeting, the resettled folks thanked the immigration department, the UNHCR and IOM for their help through her.

Well done Hobart folks. Susan is very keen to support our people. I have been fortunate keep contacts with her and meet her in few occasions in Melbourne and Nepal during my visitr in 2010. I had an opportunity to meet with her on Friday 11th February in Consulate of Nepal in Melbourne and hear from her.
She seems to be a lady very committed to help Nepalese and Bhutanse in Nepal.
